All in all i freaking love this game. I played the final 3 hours in the final beta, and thats all it took, canceled SWG subscription and preordered the next day.

As far as "issues" go, well yea, theres some game issues, always will be given the nature of programing and those that do it, you know, humans.

Course theres one thing i don't get, and can't understand for the life of me. If some people hate this game so much, and constently talk about all the problems with it, why do they still play it? Personaly if i think a game is bad, i won't continue to play it, don't see a reason to if i'm not going to enjoy it. But hey thats me, and maybe i'm the weirdo, i don't know.

I think you don't understand because it sounds like you're making presumptions that having grievances and wanting you preceives as design flaws fixed means hating the game. It doesn't.

Sure, some people linger around these forums and claim they hate the game and that they no longer the play, fine. That doesn't represent everyone who has issues with how ArenaNet handles things.

Maybe you should rename this thread the "The I feel like bitching and moaning about bitching and moaning thread", because you hardly complimented the game at all, and you're also terribly confused about all the issues. I'm not going to go into depth, because it's already been discussed to death.

Default I like guildwars

Normally, I get sick of a game after a certain amount of time. Example: Jedi academy was only fun for a couple days (after about 6 force choking people and throwing them down a pit, or using them like a weapon and hitting their allies was boring...amusing still but not fun). The longest I have ever played a game was Warcraft II....that being said. So Far since April 29th or so (if i remember the date correctly) I have played from the time I get home (2-3 in the afternoon) until the time I go to sleep around 10. I play almost as much as I work. The game is fun, the most fun I have had in a VERY LONG while...given I enjoy books with titles like "Introduction to Spectral Analysis", "Discrete time Signal Processing" and "Orthogonal Wavelet Transformations", fun may be a relative concept. There are some minor things I would change, but they are too insignificant to waste the time of the Devs over. I just get annoyed reading on forums when people complain they dont have enough money...then someone else complains they have too much and nothing to spend it on. PLAY THE GAME. IN THE TIME YOUR TOOK TO WRITE THAT, YOU MAY HAVE GOTTEN A GOOD DROP :-P. it isn't supposed to be too easy or there is no challenge, do the missions. My major complaint with A.Net at times is that they are too nice and willing to accomidate peoples wishes, in the intent of making the game more fun for all. Not that there is a problem with being too nice, but come on .
I think complaining comes natural to people because it gives the illusion of actually having an opinion.
Go out, frollic in the meadows of Kryta...explore Dragons Gullet...Do not Worry where your next plat will come from...

I just have to say that this game is by far one of the best that I've ever played. From the moment I opened up the package and plopped the cd into my computer I've had nothing but fun. I can only hope that the future installments of Guild Wars will be just as good. Until then, may the wars rage on.

People need to complain. It's the national sport in all countries. Let them do it. They'll vent up, and then they'll go back playing. A.net is doing a great job, we all know it, and the angry people are just that, angry.

You never really listen to angry people, you let them spew and cool down, and THEN you talk. Lots of good ideas have come from real or perceived problems with GW: some of them are cool, some of them are weird.

But it is only good that we have a thread to balance it out: it is true that complaints are important and useful, but I as a game designer often feel when receiving comments that nothing we do is ever right. To see a "keep it up, it's great" every once in a while is important. Keeps motivation up. Keeps you willing to do a great job, not just a good-enough job.

/signed, kudos to a.net for the game and the aftergame support - even if we're experiencing some WEIRD lag-problems lately, in italy!

The bashing of A.Net only started after Retail changed everything.

I love GW. I used to log in quite a few hours on Call of Duty, but GW has totally captured my gaming time.

I have won with one character (now deleted) and am progressing nicely with 4 others. I love playing the monk most of all.

My complaints are few, my experiences with other folks has mostly been outstanding.

Great game, look forward to more content, but I'm still satisfied working all 4 of my current characters, slowly but surely, towards the end story. Then Woe and UW will be my stomping grounds til new content.

well im afraid you will have to take your "love" else where, this is the i "Like" Gw topic ..

that has to be one of the greatest thing about this game, it was only $56.99 when i bought it... i would expect something like this to be like $70-100... ya i keep my bill from when i bought Gw... is there something wrong with that?

If no one complained it would be the same pile of crap game it started as. When people complain it's because they love the game, they just want some improvements. If no one complained, they would just leave the game, and write it off as another waste of 50 bucks. I love this game, but I bitch because it could be better. I'm sure the devs dont take it too hard, they know their game is amazing, and they're doing their best to please everyone no matter what kind of gameplay they prefer.

My hats off to you A.net, now stop reading this and get back to coding.

for 50 bucks....my 120 hours were definately well spent. This IS an amazing game. I AM overly critical, but it's my background that forces me to pick out everything that isn't perfect. This DOESN'T mean the game isn't phenominal. ArenaNet has certainly done an amazing job with Guild Wars.

I will have to keep up to get all my character on lvl 20 in the 15k armor so the summer update can be really fun. And playing 742 hours definatly means something

Nice graphics, no video lag, no network lag, no link-dead, low hardware requirement.

Impressive henchmen AI that allows me to say bye to some poor AI'ed human players.

Short missions/quests that I can play if I only have 30 mins. Lots of missions/quests/areas to explorer if I have 3 hours. 4 thumbs up!

To the people who never stops complaining regardless game/profession/quest/pve/pvp/singleplayer/multi player/online/offline: play with what you have and enjoy what you play. you'll be much happier in your gaming life.

yeah, it takes a few loud individuals to change the world, sometimes, but constant ranting isn't much help.

I think most people are just tired about seeing people complain for spoiled things, not so much the natural complaints like "why does my guild tab for chat reset to ALL when I leave a city" sort of thing. (Btw, that is annoying, having your tab reset and then you start chatting in ALL tab and go 'Damn, wrong channel!')

Oh that was annoying...especially no audio cues when someone messages you.

I think for all that wonder why people complain (atleast in my case) is that I expected a bit more, went through the game too quickly, no economy, and got tired of exploiters ruining what gameplay experience I enjoyed. The reason why it is nice to debate and discuss things is that in some way you feel like you're doing something worthwhile to help.... after maybe someone's listening up there

But having said that I'm glad that there are people who enjoy the game for what it is.
